Is extraction of teeth necessary before going for Orthodontic Treatment?

Usually a patient comes to an orthodontist seeking an orthodontic treatment, fit basically two reasons.

Either they say that their teeth are proclined, or they say that their teeth are crowded and not aligned properly.

Whenever we have to do these kind of corrections, we need space in the arch so that the teeth can be aligned properly or they can be pushed back into the arch.

Whenever we have to do this, there are various methods that we can do to gain space.

One is distalisation of the molars or pushing back of the molars, second is if you have rotated teeth, it can be derotated and some space can be gained.
